The Tuxedo blouses are made by artisans in Yalalag, another community in Oaxaca. Yalalag is known for these tuxedo shirts. For generations, men in the community of Yalalag would wear these tuxedo blouses, also known as “blusas de pechera,” which are worn on special occasions, such as weddings. The shirts have a small pocket in the front where men would put their valuables, such as wedding rings.
We work with a group of artisans in Yalalag that have been making blusas de pechera and vestidos de rombas for generations.
We recommend dry cleaning or washing on delicate, laying flat to dry, iron on low.
